Former secretary of State Hillary Clinton has been notably absent from the frantic debate over whether to take action against Syria in a targeted attack. But on Tuesday an aide told Politico that Clinton “supports the president’s effort to enlist Congress in pursuing a strong and targeted response to the Assad regime’s horrific use of chemical weapons.” Clinton had been a vocal advocate for intervention in the embattled country, calling the bloddy Syrian crisis a “lasting regret” upon leaving her post.
