Who could resist more Breaking Bad? Not Jeffery Katzenberg, for one. The CEO of DreamWorks Animation offered to commission three extra episodes continuing where the show had left off for $25 million each, with the idea of creating “the greatest pay-per-view television event for scripted programming anybody’s ever done.” He had planned to release the new content as six-minute segments over 30 days online, charging around 50-99 cents per episode. This offer would have made the Breaking Bad team more profit than they made from all five seasons combined, as the last series cost just $3.5 million an episode. However, the offer was made before the final episodes aired, and the resolved ending made Katzenberg’s idea unfeasible. Thanks a lot for teasing us though.
