Actress Marcia Wallace, famous for her work on The Bob Newhart Show and The Simpsons, died Friday. She was 70. She died from complications of pneumonia. native of Iowa, Wallace appeared regularly game shows such as The Merv Griffin Show, Hollywood Squares, and Match Game. For the past 26 years, she had voiced Bart Simpsons’s long-suffering teacher, Mrs. Krabappel. Simpsons executive producer Al Jean said the character would probably be retired, and the next new episode, set to air November 3, will feature a tribute to the actress.
