The California state Senate voted Friday to suspend three of its members currently at the center of corruption scandals. According to state law, Sens. Leland Yee, Ronald Calderon, and Roderick Wright must continue to get paid during their suspensions, but a constitutional amendment is being introduced to allow the legislature to suspend members’ salaries along with their work. A vote on the amendment will likely be held early next week. The decision comes two days after Yee, a Democrat from Sacramento, was indicted on charges ranging from wire fraud to gun running.
