At a news conference in South Korea on Friday, President Obama said he would “absolutely” save Russian President Vladimir Putin if he was drowning. Just last week, Putin was also asked if he thought Obama would save him, and he answered, “I think he is a decent and quite courageous person. I think he would do it." In response to the question, President Obama also said, “I’d like to think if anyone were out there drowning, I’d save them." He added that while recent events have strained relations, Russia is still providing assistance to the American military in the Middle East and on counterterrorism.
