In another unanimous ruling, the Supreme Court ruled Thursday that a Massachusetts law preventing protesters from being less than 35 feet from the entrance to an abortion clinic is unconstitutional. In 2000, the court upheld "bubble zones" in which people had to stay at least eight feet away, and that was not affected by the decision. The McCullen v. Coakley decision reportedly hinged on preventing access to public ways and roads. Massachusetts had enacted the law in 2007 after a history of violence at clinics in the Boston area. It is unknown how this will affect similar laws in 15 other states.
