Extremist militants grabbed a Syrian military base on Sunday in an offensive that has killed hundreds since last week and gave ISIS effective control of Raqqa province, which borders Turkey. Since the battle began Tuesday, more than 340 ISIS fighters and 170 government soldiers have been killed, according to a watchdog group.
