A newly discovered species of swamp pig has been named in honor of The Rolling Stones’ Mick Jagger—and mainly because of his lips. The Jaggermeryx naiad, which translates to “Jagger’s water nymph” lived around 19 million years ago in Africa. It was recently found in the Egyption desert along with fossils of catfish, turtles, and waterbirds. The pig had giant, sensitive lips believed to be used for foraging for food. "Some of my colleagues suggested naming the new species after Hollywood star Angelina Jolie, because she also has famous lips," said Wake Forest University’s Ellen Miller. "But for me it had to be Mick."
