Nearly one thousand Northern California residents have had to evacuate their homes because out-of-control wildfires are spreading through the region. Approximately 400 firefighters struggled to contain a fire in Madera County that had already destroyed 10 structures by Sunday night and forced 400 homes to be evacuated. A fire in El Dorado County was only 10 percent contained after 800 firefighters struggled to fight a blaze that burned through 2,500 wooded acres. Some 500 homes were threatened by that fire, according to California’s state firefighting agency.
