Facing ridicule for its software problems as well as criticism for the new iPhones' bendability, Apple spoke out Thursday night. "With normal use, a bend in iPhone is extremely rare and through our first six days of sale, a total of nine customers have contacted Apple with a bent iPhone 6 Plus," Apple spokeswoman Trudy Muller said. On social-media networks, stories about how the new iPhone bends when placed in back pockets or while wearing skinny jeans had gone viral. Apple also apologized for all of the software glitches its latest operating system has caused. "We apologize for the great inconvenience experienced by users," Muller said. With all of the bad news after the euphoria of the launch, Apple shares lost nearly 4 percent on Thursday, representing a drop of nearly $23 billion in market value.
