John Galliano has landed his first major position at a fashion house after Christian Dior fired him in 2011 for anti-Semitic remarks. Maison Martin Margiela announced Monday that Galliano had been hired to serve as the Belgian fashion houseās new creative director. āI couldnāt be happier. I always believed in brave, unpredictable choices, and this one is no exception,ā said Renzo Rosso, the president of Only the Brave, which owns majority stake in Maison Martin Margiela. It is unclear how well Galliano will fit with Maison Martin Magiela. The fashion houseās founder, Martin Margiela, was notoriously private and never publicly commented on his work outside of official brand statements. Galliano is famous for enjoying fanfare and ending his runway shows dressed as a toreador accompanied by bodyguards. Gallianoās first show for Maison Martin Margiela is set for January.
