Protesters demanding answers in last month’s disappearance of 43 students looted and burned part of the government headquarters in the state of Guerrero, Mexico. A group of teachers and students let workers leave the Municipal Palace complex in Chilpancingo before setting fire to the building. No injuries were reported. A leader of the CETEG teachers union told AFP that protesters will increase their actions and “radicalize our movement” if the state governor does not provide information about the students’ whereabouts by midnight Monday. The students went missing after clashing with police in the city of Iguala. Authorities are investigating whether local officials colluded with criminal gangs in the disappearances.
