Ohio Evangelist Accused of Running Cult

Oh, how the mighty have fallen. A two-month long investigation by the Akron Beacon Journal found that television evangelist Ernest Angley is running what former members of his flock call a cult. Angely has presided over Grace Cathedral, a 3,000 seat mega-church in Ohio, for decades. During that time, he is alleged by 21 former members to have persuaded women to have abortions, encouraged men to have vasectomies, sexually abused members, and publicly blasted those who've left his congregation. “The people in Akron, Ohio, have a Jim Jones sitting in their backyard," one former member said. "These people in his congregation would drink the Kool-Aid if he told them to.”
