Meet Darth Alekseyevich Vader, a candidate in Ukraine’s parliamentary elections who promises to turn Ukraine into a “galactic empire.” While attempting to turn voters to the dark side, Vader sits perched atop a black van that rolls through the streets of Kiev, flanked by Stormtroopers and fumes from a fog machine. He refers to the van as “my helicopter.” Previous to becoming a Sith Lord (and leader of the Internet Party), Vader was an electrician who went by the name Viktor Shevchenko. “When I get to parliament, I will expel all the deputies. They have proven their uselessness,” he told the Associated Press. “Computers will work in their place and they will fulfill their functions without cease.” He also has plans for how to deal with separatist rebels in the east and vows to reclaim the Crimean Peninsula. “A military space station will be built that will protect the whole territory of Ukraine,” he said.
