While speaking to a crowd from a Vatican window on Sunday, Pope Francis made two major announcements. First, he has named 15 new cardinals from 14 countries, including Tonga, New Zealand, Cape Verde, Ethiopia, Thailand, Vietnam, and Myanmar. In addition, the pontiff announced he will be leading a meeting in February of all cardinals for proposals of reform of the Roman Curia, which is the Vatican bureaucracy.
