Mitt Romney and Chris Christie are set to meet up in an attempt to wash away the residual awkwardness from the 2012 presidential election now that both are preparing to run in 2016. Christie has reportedly hired a campaign finance manager and is having weekly meetings with bundlers, while Romney said just yesterday that he is “almost certainly” running. Christie will give his State of the State address today and has released a thinly veiled presidential campaign video called “Our Dreams Are the Same,” which seems like a clear attempt to put the Bridgegate scandal behind him. Christie and Romney did not end 2012 on good terms. Romney vetted Christie and found enough dirt to pass him over for VP. Christie, in turn, was seen hugging President Obama after Hurricane Sandy.
