Samsung is warning customers who buy its "smart TV" sets not to say personal information outloud if they use the voice-activation feature. These televisions will “listen” to every conversation, TV-related or otherwise, and may share that information with Samsung or third parties. Samsung issued the warning in response to Shane Harris’s article in The Daily Beast, which pointed out one line of the company’s privacy policy opened customers up to far more exposure than they probably intended. “Please be aware that if your spoken words include personal or other sensitive information, that information will be among the data captured and transmitted to a third party” is the oft-overlooked line in Samsung’s policy.
