Followers of Indian guru and newly minted movie star Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh are speaking out against the “guru in bling” after he convinced as many as 400 of them to undergo castration so they could speak directly to God. (They’re still waiting to speak to Him.) India’s Central Bureau of Investigation has reportedly obtained statements from victims, saying the castrations took place at a hospital run by Ram Rahim’s organization. Some plan to bring charges of grievous bodily harm against the guru, who has an estimated fortune of $50 million. Singh has also been linked to a murder and sexual assault.
