On the fifth anniversary of his namesake health-care law, President Obama said Obamacare is “working better than many of us, including me, anticipated,” despite the Republicans who tried to “repeal, undermine, defund and defame the law.” Obama said the Affordable Care Act is “making health care coverage more affordable and more effective for all of us,” adding that saved 50,000 people from preventable deaths in hospitals.
