Walter Scott’s Brother Asks for Calm

The brother of the man killed Saturday by a South Carolina police officer spoke out Tuesday night, saying that he hopes Walter Scott’s death will serve to prevent other similar incidents. “I hope they use better judgment and have better training,” said Anthony Scott. “Everybody keeps saying that he ran, but after being tasered, I would have probably ran too to get that off me. I would have ran too, but I am sure that he didn’t think that he would have gotten shot.” The 52-year-old added: “We don’t advocate violence, we advocate change.”
