A European tourist allegedly paid $50,000 to park guides in Zimbabwe in order to kill one of the continent's most famous lions. Cecil was found skinned and decapitated after being shot with a bow and arrow and tracked for 40 hours before dying. The 13-year-old male lion was being tracked by an Oxford University research project, but was lured out of the park to be "legally" killed. The two trackers have been arrested, but the hunter has not.
