Journalist Ta-Nehisi Coates and Lin Manuel Miranda, the writer and star behind Broadway hit musical Hamilton, are among the 24 winners of the 2015 "genius" grants awarded by the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation. The recipients were announced late Monday, and range in fields including music, biology, economics and photography. Each winner receives a stipend of $625,000 over five years to continue his or her work or pursue a new venture. Other winners include puppeteer Basil Twist, Princeton University history professor Marina Rustow and Chicago photographer and video artist LaToya Ruby Frazier.
