Appearing at the global climate conference north of Paris on Monday, President Obama said the United States is partially to blame for anthropogenic climate change and that he intends to have America lead an international effort to reverse the negative effects. “The United States not only recognizes our role in creating this problem, we embrace our responsibility to do something about it,” Obama said. He also invoked the spirit of Martin Luther King Jr., and repeated his post-Paris terror attacks argument that action on climate change would be a “rejection of those who would tear down our world.”
