In a new survey by The Washington Post, nine in 10 Native Americans polled said they are not offended by the Washington Redskins NFL team name. The results were consistent across age, income, political affiliation, and level of education, and are largely unchanged from a similar 2004 poll. Just 9 percent of respondents said the name offends them, while 1 percent said they had no opinion. Democratic members of Congress, most notably Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid, have led the charge against the name, urging team owner Dan Snyder to change it.
