The makers of Katie Couricâs recent documentary on gun violence deceptively edited interviews with pro-gun activists, according to a Washington Free Beacon report Wednesday. At one point in the EPIX film, Under the Gun, Couric asks members of the Virginia Citizens Defense League: âIf there are no background checks for gun purchasers, how do you prevent felons or terrorists from purchasing a gun?â After that question, the interviewees are shown awkwardly staring and looking down for nine seconds before the documentary moves on. Unedited audio of the segment obtained by the Free Beacon, however, shows the activists immediately chiming in to answer Couricâs question.
