Oklahoma Cop Sentenced to 4 Years for Fatal Shooting

Oklahoma reserve deputy Robert Bates was sentenced Tuesday to four years behind bars, a month after he was convicted of second-degree manslaughter for fatally shooting an unarmed black man in April 2015. Eric Harris, 44, was shot after running from police officers in an encounter caught on video. Bates thought he was using a taser during the incident, and could be heard afterward saying, “I shot him. I’m sorry.”
