Hugh Hefner has agreed to sell his legendary Playboy Mansion to a business tycoon who co-owns the Twinkies brand. A Playboy spokesman confirmed Monday the Los Angeles estate is set to be sold to the man who lives next door, Daren Metropoulos, who owns a private-equity firm that co-owns Hostess Brands. The spokesman declined to reveal any specifics on the deal, including the price tag. In comments to The Wall Street Journal, Metropoulos called it a “true privilege” to take over the famous manse. The 7.3-acre property, built in 1927, was the scene of lavish parties thrown by now-90-year-old Hefner over the years and has become a symbol of the excesses of Hollywood.
