After the early Sunday mass shooting at a gay nightclub, multiple outlets reported that OneBlood donation center would not be turning away donors, regardless of sexual orientation, because blood types O-, O+, and AB are “especially needed.” However, OneBlood released a statement saying it was complying with all FDA guidelines and had not lifted the ban.
