At least 10 people were injured—five of them stabbed—during a violent clash Sunday at California’s State Capitol between 400 anarchist counterprotesters and a group of neo-Nazis who had gotten permission to assist a rally there to support presumptive GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump. The stabbings involved victims on both sides of the fight, police said. Anti-fascist protesters known as the Black Hawks led a chant of “Racists go home” and drove some of the Traditionalist Worker Party to the ground. “It’s a highly volatile situation,” Sacramento Police Chief Sam Somers said. “Regardless of the message, it’s the skinheads’ First Amendment right to free speech.” Two of those stabbed were reported to have life-threatening injuries, officials said late Sunday.
