Dallas Suspect: ‘The End Is Coming’

A suspect is dead after five Dallas police officers were killed in what authorities called an ambush as a peaceful Black Lives Matter march ended late Thursday. Officials were still combing the downtown area for explosives early Friday morning, after the suspect told police he had planted bombs throughout the city. The suspect died from a robot-device bomb blast at around 2:30 a.m. following a standoff in a parking garage. The attack left at seven police injured, as well as two civilians who suffered what hasbeen described as non-life-threatening injuries. Brown said three other people had been taken into custody. Describing the circumstances as a “very tenuous situation,” Brown said the suspect in the standoff had vowed to “hurt and kill” more police. He also said that “the end is coming ... and there are bombs all over the place.” The persons of interest in custody were not cooperating with police, according to reports. Dallas Mayor Mike Rawlings has asked residents to avoid the area Friday. With fears of further attacks, the Federal Aviation Administration has declared the area a no-fly zone.
