At least 15 people are dead in the U.S. after Hurricane Matthew ravaged the southeastern coast, moving its way up through Florida and the Carolinas and causing extreme flooding along the way. Fayetteville, North Carolina, received at least 14 inches of rain, while other areas were drenched with four inches per hour. Seven people died in the state, in addition to one in South Carolina, three in Georgia, and four in Florida. Additionally, at least 1.3 million people lost electricity. Residents in Florida are beginning to clean up from the storm, and evacuees are readying to return to their homes. More than 800 people were killed in the island nation of Haiti alone as a result of the hurricane, which picked up intensity as it barreled toward the continental U.S. late last week.
