Saturday Night Live’s first post-election episode will feature host Dave Chappelle, who will be joined by legendary hip-hop group A Tribe Called Quest as musical guest. The revered stand-up comic, who shot to stardom with his own sketch series Chappelle’s Show before disappearing from the comedy scene for several years, has never before hosted SNL. However, according to Jimmy Fallon, Chappelle did play a pivotal role in getting Prince to play onstage at the Plaza Hotel during the afterparty for the show’s 40th anniversary special last February. A Tribe Called Quest will appear on the show to promote their star-studded final album, We Got It From Here, Thank You 4 Your Service, which was recorded in part before the death of member Phife Dawg this year.
