The first woman to serve as America’s attorney general, Janet Reno, died early Monday at the age of 78. She passed away in her Miami home after a long battle with Parkinson’s disease. Reno served in the White House under Bill Clinton from 1993 to 2001. During her tenure, she oversaw the conviction of Sheik Omar Abdel-Rahman, who bombed for the World Trade Center in 1993. She also oversaw the prosecutions of Timothy McVeigh and Terry Nichols for their parts in the Oklahoma City federal building bombing in 1995.
