During the Sunday edition of Fox & Friends, host Pete Hegseth tied the anti-Donald Trump protests that have cropped up across the country in the past several days to billionaire George Soros, MoveOn.org, and other groups who he claimed want to create “perpetual anarchy” in America. “These are communists. These are anarchists. They’re anti-Semitic,” he said of the protesters, failing to mention that Soros himself is Jewish and survived Nazi-occupied Hungary. “They’re not pro-American liberals who are frustrated with conservatism,” he added. “They’re anti-American and they want to foment chaos across our country.” Hegseth appeared to be basing his comments on reports from Russia Today that in turn cite WikiLeaks documents to link Soros to the protests. It is a message that was echoed earlier in the week by President-elect Trump, who tweeted, “Now professional protesters, incited by the media, are protesting. Very unfair!”
