President-elect Donald Trump is having a hard time landing marquee talent to perform at festivities for his inauguration in Washington, D.C., next month; and his team has reportedly been reaching out to Hollywood talent managers and bookers in the hopes of luring some non-embarrassing celebs. According to The Wrap, members of Trump’s Presidential Inaugural Committee have offered bookers a lot of money or even ambassadorships in exchange for persuading famous singers to appear. Multiple Hollywood insiders said Team Trump’s wish list includes Justin Timberlake, Bruno Mars, Katy Perry, and Aretha Franklin.
It is incredibly unlikely any of those celebs would agree to perform at a Trump inauguration, especially Perry, who campaigned for Hillary Clinton and basically called for a “REVOLUTION” when Clinton lost. Reps for all the aforementioned singers did not immediately respond to The Daily Beast’s requests for comment. Other big names, such as Elton John, have refused to perform at Trump’s inaugural celebrations. Opera pop star Jackie Evancho, 16, announced Wednesday that she will sing the national anthem at the inauguration ceremony.
