White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer on Tuesday defended President Trump’s false claim that millions of people voted illegally in the 2016 presidential election. Spicer, who has been under fire himself for saying incorrectly over the weekend that Trump’s inauguration was the largest ever in terms of crowd and audience size, said Trump has made the false claims about voter fraud “based on studies and evidence people have presented to him.” When pressed as to whether the White House will seek an investigation into the alleged voter fraud, Spicer added: “Maybe we will.” Earlier Tuesday, South Carolina GOP Sen. Lindsey Graham lambasted Trump for continuing to push the false claim, stating that it undermines Trump’s presidency.
