Most Americans view President Donald Trump’s key initiatives during his first two weeks in office unfavorably, according to a CNN/ORC poll released Friday. Fifty-three percent of Americans said they opposed Trump’s executive order that bans foreign nationals from seven Muslim-majority countries, while 55 percent view the directive as a Muslim ban. Additionally, 73 percent of Democrats said they are in favor of accepting Syrian refugees, while 30 percent of Republicans are against it. Trump’s executive order also suspended the Syrian refugee program indefinitely. In addition, 60 percent of Americans oppose Trump’s plan to build a wall on the southern border between the U.S. and Mexico, and the president’s approval rating stands at 44 percent. His disapproval rating is 53 percent, the highest for a newly-elected president in polling history.
