American Airlines has suspended an employee after a fight with a passenger over a baby stroller went viral. The incident, which happened Friday on a flight from San Francisco to Dallas, started over a dispute about whether or not a woman could bring her baby’s stroller on board. Video of the altercation posted on Facebook by a fellow passenger shows the woman crying and asking a flight attendant for the seized stroller before a male passenger confronts flight attendants. Passenger Surain Adyanthaya, who posted the video, said a flight attendant had “violently” taken the stroller from the woman moments earlier, hitting her with it and nearly striking the baby. A male passenger can be heard telling the flight attendant, “Hey, bud, you do that to me and I'll knock you flat,” before the flight attendant challenges him to “bring it on.” “You don’t even know what the story is,” the flight attendant can be heard saying. “I don't care what the story is. You almost hurt a baby,” the passenger replies. American Airlines issued a statement after the fight offering an apology. “What we see on this video does not reflect our values or how we care for our customers. We are deeply sorry for the pain we have caused this passenger and her family and to any other customers affected by the incident,” the statement said. The airline upgraded the woman and her family to first-class for a separate flight the family took to Dallas.
