The White House is reportedly considering Milwaukee County Sheriff David Clarke for a position with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, Politico reported on Friday. Clarke, who is an avid supporter of President Trump, has come under controversy for his jail’s handling of inmate deaths, including one particular incident in which, prosecutors allege, Terrill Thomas died of dehydration in solitary confinement several days after jail staff shut off his access to water.
