Trump: Comey ‘Best Thing That Ever Happened’ to Hillary

President Trump took to Twitter late Tuesday to hit back against Hillary Clinton’s claims that FBI Director James Comey contributed to her election loss. “FBI Director Comey was the best thing that ever happened to Hillary Clinton in that he gave her a free pass for many bad deeds!” Trump posted. “The phony Trump/Russia story was an excuse used by the Democrats as justification for losing the election. Perhaps Trump just ran a great campaign?” His comments came hours after Clinton told a crowd in New York that she was “on the way to winning” until Comey sent congressional leaders a letter on Oct. 28 announcing that the FBI would investigate new emails in a scandal that plagued Clinton throughout her campaign. The move was seen by some as an act of sabotage deliberately timed for release shortly before Election Day.
