The rapper and his date, R&B singer Cassie, were wearing eye-catching matching vampire outfits when they arrived at the gala last night, and the massed ranks of photographers were keen to capture every angle of Cassie’s outfit.

So keen, that all that waiting started to get a little tiring for Diddy, who opted to take the weight off his feet by plunking himself down on the staircase leading into the hallowed portals of the party while waiting it out.

Diddy himself tweeted, “I was getting tired so I laid down on the stairs!!! #METGALA.”

But social media users were quick to come up with their own theories as the meme spread, swiftly pricking the self-important bubble that is fashion’s big night out.
