Dozens Killed in Nigeria Suicide Bombings

GLOBAL TERROR

Three separate attacks targeted a crowded market and a refugee camp.

Three separate suicide bombings in northeast Nigeria killed at least 27 people and injured 83 others on Tuesday. The first blast tore through a market near the city of Maiduguri, an area plagued by violence from Boko Haram. Several more explosions soon followed at the entrance to a nearby refugee camp, where authorities say at least two suicide bombers detonated explosive vests. Witnesses said many of the victims had been trying to flee the area after the first attack when they were killed by the explosions that followed. No group has claimed responsibility for the attack, but authorities have battled Boko Haram in the area for years.
