‘DECEPTION’

Jared Kushner’s faulty memory about his Russian meetings has now ensnared his wife, White House senior adviser Ivanka Trump. More than 20 House Democrats want FBI acting director Andrew McCabe to review Ivanka’s declaration of foreign contacts. That’s not because the 22 Dems have reason to believe Ivanka herself met with any Russian officials or proxies. It’s because the declaratory form asks about foreign contacts concerning “you or any member of your immediate family.” On the campaign and during the transition, Kushner met with Russian ambassador Sergei Kislyak; Sergey Gorkov, the chief executive of the state-owned Vnesheconombank; and Kremlin-connected attorney Natalia Veselnitskaya. Also at the June 2016 meeting with Veselnitskaya—which included accused money launderer Ike Kaveladze—was Donald Trump Jr., Ivanka’s brother. Kushner retroactively revised his own SF-86 to declare over 100 foreign contacts. “We are concerned that Ivanka Trump may have engaged in similar deception,” the Democratic lawmakers wrote in a letter to McCabe on Wednesday.
