Irena Briganti, Top Roger Ailes Flack, Might Be Fired, Too

According to New York magazine reporter Gabriel Sherman, Roger Ailes’s top Fox News publicist Irena Briganti has been told by 21st Century Fox not to discuss the status of the cable channel’s CEO with both the press or Ailes himself. The report has led many to speculate that she will depart with Ailes, with whom she’s worked closely since Fox News’s 1996 launch. “When Roger leaves, she’s gone,” one executive told Sherman. Briganti is widely known as Fox News’s ruthless top flack, often feeding damaging stories to the press about Fox News’s own staff as retribution for crossing her and her public-relations unit.
