Former FBI Director James Comey’s first interview since being fired by President Donald Trump will air Sunday, April 15, on ABC at 10 p.m. EST.
Comey’s interview with ABC’s George Stephanopoulos comes in anticipation of the April 17 publication of the former FBI director’s long-awaited book, A Higher Loyalty: Truth, Lies, and Leadership.
Though only a few promotional clips of the interview have been released, the reaction—from politicians, the media, and Trump himself—has been swift.

“James Comey is a proven LEAKER & LIAR,” Trump himself tweeted Friday morning. “Virtually everyone in Washington thought he should be fired for the terrible job he did-until he was, in fact, fired. He leaked CLASSIFIED information, for which he should be prosecuted. He lied to Congress under OATH.”
Comey was fired from his position on May 9, 2017, just two days before he was set to testify before the Senate Intelligence Committee in an open hearing, where he would likely have fielded questions about the president’s possible collusion with Russia.
Almost a year later, Comey has now teased that Trump’s infamous “pee tape”—which is a video of Trump’s alleged solicitation of prostitutes to urinate on a Moscow hotel bed in which the Obamas once slept—may, in fact, exist.
The claim was first publicized in the much-disputed “Steele Dossier,” though Trump and the RNC have already begun to preemptively attempt to shut down its reemergence by branding Comey as a liar, complete with the creation of new website LyinComey.com.
ABC has been hyping up its special sitdown with Comey by promising that “nothing is off limits.”
