Jimmy Kimmel used his Twitter account to thank Sen. John McCain for coming out against the Graham-Cassidy legislation on Friday. The "no" vote from McCain, who cast the decisive vote to prevent the GOP's previous Obamacare repeal attempt, effectively killed the new bill, which can only afford to lose two Republicans in the Senate. Senators Rand Paul (R-KY) and Susan Collins (R-ME) have already indicated they will vote against it. Kimmel has spent all week lobbying against the bill on his late-night show, targeting Sen. Bill Cassidy in particular who had promised that any bill he supported would need to pass what he called the "Jimmy Kimmel test." Despite what Cassidy and Lindsey Graham have argued this week, their bill does not offer the same protections for those with pre-existing conditions that the Affordable Care Act does.
