Actress Jodie Whittaker was announced on Sunday as the next “Doctor Who.” Whittaker, 35, will become the 13th Time Lord the show has seen, and the first female to play that role. She is succeeding Peter Capaldi, who will transition out of the role after the show’s Christmas special. The BBC has produced Doctor Who since 1963.
