Comedian Kathy Griffin has recruited the help of a celebrity lawyer to respond to the alleged “bullying from the Trump family” she has “endured” following the publication of an image depicting Griffin holding the severed head of President Donald Trump. In a tweeted statement, attorney Lisa Bloom declared herself “proud to announce that I represent Kathy Griffin. We will be holding a press conference tomorrow morning.”
“Earlier this week,” a press release attached to the tweet says, “Griffin released a controversial photograph of herself posing with a faux-bloody mask of Donald Trump’s face. Griffin and Ms. Bloom will explain the true motivation behind the image, and respond to the bullying from the Trump family she has endured.”
Griffin posted her own video from the photo shoot on Tuesday, adding the message: “OBVIOUSLY, I do not condone ANY violence by my fans or others to anyone, ever! I'm merely mocking the Mocker in Chief.”
