Fox News host Kimberly Guilfoyle might be the next White House press secretary, she told the Bay Area News Group last night. Guilfoyle, who was originally rumored for the position before it went to Sean Spicer, said on-record that she’s currently in talks with the Trump administration. She added that the idea of her replacing current press secretary Sean Spicer—or taking on another press job—has been “raised by a number of people” in the administration. “I’m a patriot, and it would be an honor to serve the country,” Guilfoyle said Monday night. “I think it’d be a fascinating job, it’s a challenging job, and you need someone really determined and focused, a great communicator in there with deep knowledge to be able to handle that position.” Regarding the man whose job she might take, Guilfoyle said, “Sean Spicer is a very nice man and a patriot; he’s dedicated himself to this public service. Very tough position he’s in — I wish him the best, and I know he puts a lot of effort into it." In a set of dual statements, Fox News said, "Kimberly is a valued member of the FOX News primetime lineup, and is under a long-term contract with the network," and Guilfoyle's spokesperson added, "As I stated in the interview, I really love what I do and my job co-hosting The Five is tough to beat."
