Louise Linton, the actress and wife of Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin, apologized on Tuesday for her Instagram post that was slammed as out of touch. “I apologize for my post on social media yesterday as well as my response. It was inappropriate and highly insensitive,” Linton said in a statement. In the since-deleted post, Linton used hashtags of high-end designers including Hermes and Valentino. The photo showed her descending from a U.S. government aircraft. She also responded to a commenter by mocking suggestions that the government was bankrolling her personal travels. Linton also told the commenter that she and her husband “paid more taxes toward our day ‘trip’ than you did.”
